GEORGEVILLE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 1, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Key local stakeholders have long been asking for concrete, sustainable measures to improve community and recreational infrastructure. The Government of Canada is proud to invest in projects that, like this one in Georgeville, contribute to the strength and vitality of all regions of the country.

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie and Member of Parliament for Compton-Stanstead, today announced that Association communautaire de Georgeville has been granted $25,000 in funding for the purchase and installation of new children's play structures in Copp's Square.

For over 40 years, this not-for-profit organization, which operates Murray Memorial Community Hall, Copp's Square and a summer camp, has been organizing recreational, cultural and community activities for the residents of Georgeville as well as social events to vitalize the community. The non-repayable contribution, awarded through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150), will enable it to acquire and install new play modules for children aged 5 to 12 years.
