HIT Leader Justin Barnes Joins Gozio Health Advisory Board

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Feb 3, 2015) - Gozio Health, which provides an indoor navigation platform for hospitals and health systems, announced today that HIT expert Justin Barnes is joining the company in an advisory capacity. Gozio Health represents the next generation of smartphone functionality, putting location-driven information at the user's fingertips.

"We are thrilled to have Justin involved with Gozio Health," said Joshua Titus, Gozio Health CEO. "His depth of experience, understanding of innovative technology, industry ties and business acumen will provide deep value to the company, and accelerate the adoption of our technology."

Barnes has been a technology entrepreneur and advisor for 20 years. His career highlights include serving as an early member of the leadership team at Greenway Health, where he worked for 11 years, primarily as Vice President of Marketing, Industry Affairs, Government Relations and International Affairs. In addition, Barnes has co-founded eight healthcare and health IT industry associations including the HIMSS EHR Association, the Accountable Care Community of Practice, Healtheway's Carequality, CommonWell Health Alliance, IHE USA and his latest, the Mobile Health Consortium.

Barnes has formally addressed and/or testified before Congress as well as the last two Presidential Administrations on more than 20 occasions since 2005 with statements relating to value-based medicine, accountable care, interoperability, EHR meaningful use, consumerism and much more. Barnes is a regular public speaker on these issues and has appeared in more than 800 journals, magazines and broadcast media outlets relating to national leadership of healthcare and health IT. He recently launched a weekly radio show, "This Just In."

Indoor navigation, or wayfinding, is extremely difficult as the physical structure of modern buildings distorts and blocks GPS signals. Using a patent-pending sensor fusion technology, Gozio combines data from a smartphone's electromagnetic, motion and orientation sensors to provide unrivaled accuracy without expensive building infrastructure upgrades.

Patients appreciate Gozio's step-by-step directions to a specific destination or to hospital amenities such as the pharmacy and cafeteria. Users benefit from access to a physician directory, appointment notifications, navigating traffic and even a reminder of where they parked. An immediate follow-up survey about the quality of the visit helps elicit feedback, addressing regulatory requirements focused on quality measurements.
