HiveFire CEO Pawan Deshpande Honored as One of Boston's Best Young Business Leaders

Boston Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Honor Underscores Civic Involvement and Online Marketing Leadership

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - October 7, 2010) -  HiveFire, an online content marketing technology company, today announced that Founder and Chief Executive Officer Pawan Deshpande has been lauded by the Boston Business Journal as one of the region's best and brightest business leaders under the age of 40. Deshpande is the visionary behind Curata, the company's online marketing and content curation solution, and in the three years since the company's inception, has emerged as a thought leader in the area's vibrant online marketing innovation community.

The Boston Business Journal's 40 Under 40 program, now in its 13th year, recognizes emerging business leaders in Greater Boston who are both successful professionals and engaged citizens. This year's honorees were chosen from a pool of over 400 nominees -- the largest in the program's history -- and come from a broad spectrum of the Boston business community. The honorees represent the business talent and civic commitment that help drive the regional economy and in addition to Deshpande, include leaders from Atlas Venture, Carbonite, Sovereign Bank, Partners Healthcare, and Arnold Worldwide.

"Each year, the selection process gets tougher as the quality of the nominations climbs," said George Donnelly, editor of the Boston Business Journal. "It's a humbling experience to review the nominations. Our goal is to choose a 40 Under 40 class that highlights individual achievement and also represents the breadth and promise of the local economy."

The greater Boston region is quickly becoming a hub for the burgeoning online marketing community, and HiveFire is among several successful local technology companies that have emerged to support the industry's advancement. As Madison Avenue was the pioneer for the traditional advertising industry in the 1960's, the current influx of local activity is paving the way for Greater Boston to become the ubiquitous hub for the future of marketing. Under Deshpande's leadership, HiveFire is specifically committed to helping B2B marketers create brand leadership and engage customers through the cultivation, publishing and distribution of online content.

In addition to his professional achievements, Deshpande is an avid painter and a member of the Executive Council for the Hindu American Foundation. In this role, he developed the Hindu Human Rights Report, an annual report providing detailed accounts of human rights violations, and served an instrumental role in developing the Foundation's internship program, which provides placements and mentoring for high school students around the nation, including Boston. Now residing in Cambridge, Deshpande is a lifelong Massachusetts resident and second generation entrepreneur.

Deshpande and the entire 40 Under 40 class of 2010 will be recognized during an event on Oct. 7 at the State Room in Boston from 6 to 9 pm. To reserve space to attend, visit the Boston Business Journal's registration page here.
