The Hoffman Company's Bryant Brislin Honored by Urban Land Institute With Its Highest Honor, The Larry Webb Leadership Award

Brislin Critical to Company's Expanding Presence in Los Angeles Market

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 27, 2012) - The Hoffman Company, one of California's most established land brokerage firms, announced today that Bryant Brislin, a land broker in the firm's Irvine headquarters, has received the prestigious Larry Webb Leadership Award from the Orange County/Inland Empire Chapter of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).

The ULI's Emergent Leadership Awards honor exemplary motivated, dedicated, and innovative emerging land use and real estate professionals under the age of 35 who exhibit demonstrable efforts to influence responsible land use. The Larry Webb Award, one of ULI's Emergent Leadership Awards, was presented to Brislin by Larry Webb and Emile Haddad of FivePoint Communities.

"The Larry Webb award recognizes and supports one individual each year who is advancing, innovating and effectively finding solutions to every day issues dealing with our industry," said Brislin, who is 34. "I am honored and very grateful to have been selected."

The award included a $1,000 contribution in Brislin's name to the charity of his choice. Brislin selected Taller San Jose in Santa Ana, an innovative program that walks young people out of poverty by offering the hope of a productive and self-reliant future.

This year marked the ULI's second annual Emergent Leadership Awards program. Last year, Brislin took home the award in the Professional Services category.

Brislin, who focuses on infill opportunities in Los Angeles County, primarily in the more urban submarkets, has been with the Hoffman Company since 2009. He has closed two deals thus far in 2012 and has an additional $40 million either in or approaching escrow. In 2011, his first year as a broker with Hoffman, Brislin closed approximately $6 million among four deals covering roughly 100 lots.

"In a relatively short amount of time Bryant has carved out a pretty solid niche in the urban infill world," said Tom Dallape, principal for the Hoffman Company. "He is our top urban infill expert and I think it's safe to say that the majority of the builders and developers in the LA area have come to consider Bryant one of the main go-to brokers for the various sub-markets within the Los Angeles city limits."

In the past year Brislin has produced two unique small lot programs for the Building Industry Association (BIA), both of which sold out, he remains active in the ULI, and he sits on the executive boards of both the BIA Next Gen Group and the ULI's Young Leader Group.

Prior to joining the firm he served as a title officer at Fidelity National Title and began his career with First Alliance Mortgage Company. An Orange County native, Brislin grew up in Tustin and attended Tustin High School, California State University, Fullerton, and the University of California, Irvine.
