DETAILS:
"Developing Model Request for Proposal (RFP) Guidelines for the Assessment Industry"
Creating an RFP that accurately identifies assessment needs is difficult to start, as is drafting an RFP response that details the provider's capabilities. Jocelyn Hays, Corporate Solutions consultant for Hogan Assessments, joins Reid Klion, chief science officer at pan; David Mayfield, Organizational Effectiveness senior manager at The Home Depot; and Kim Wells, global head, Candidate Value Office at Adecco Group, for a panel discussion that features perspectives on the RFP process and how it can be standardized for both assessment providers and firms that use assessments. The panelists will explore the roles of RFP authors and respondents, each party's unique challenges, and how they can communicate more effectively.

Based on a 2012 Innovations in Testing session presented by Klion, the I/O division of ATP has begun to investigate the potential of developing model RFP guidelines for assessment consumers. During this highly interactive session, attendees will have the opportunity to share their own experiences, learn about regulatory guidelines and participate in a discussion on potential criteria for standardization and improvement moving forward.

"Innovations in Leadership Assessment: Research, Instrumentation and Technology"
One of the most important challenges that organizations face is the identification and development of leadership talent. Over the past decade, advances in technology and research have spurred the development of automated assessment tools and reporting instruments that provide insight into individual and organizational leadership talent, strengths and gaps.

Ryan Ross, Hogan Assessments vice president of Global Alliances, will participate on a panel of psychometric executives from major assessment firms to detail the technology and research innovations in leadership assessment that have emerged. The panelists will review trends in leadership derailment and their impacts on organizational effectiveness. Session attendees will be invited to participate in an interactive discussion of the challenges they face and best practices they have implemented for effective leadership assessment.

"Pre-Employment Assessments: Expanding the Scope beyond Employee Selection"
Many employers currently use job fit, performance and organizational fit assessments to support candidate selection. But organizations can also benefit from including assessments in their talent strategies beyond recruiting. During this educational session, Jocelyn Hays will team with Julie Carswell, senior consultant and Sigma Assessment Systems, and April Cantwell, manager of Talent Measurement Consulting at pan, to help employers understand how assessment data can effectively be leveraged throughout the employee lifecycle to improve onboarding, facilitate training, and further team and leadership development.

Session attendees will learn how assessments can be used by coaches to effectively tailor their coaching styles, employees to understand personal strengths and weaknesses, and management to identify high-potentials and create succession plans. During this educational session, the panelists will explore innovative ways and varying audiences for which employment assessments add value, including career planning for students in advanced degree programs and the unemployed.
