HoJo Happy Challenge Finalists Down to Four -- Vote for Your Favorite Now

PARSIPPANY, NJ--(Marketwire - May 20, 2010) -  After two weeks of daily online voting across the U.S. and Canada, the public has spoken and four happy-spreading finalists are now on their way to the next round of Howard Johnson and the Harlem Globetrotters' The Give Happy Challenge.

The four finalists have raised money and donations to help those both inside and outside their communities, including earthquake victims in Haiti, the homeless and several charity groups and organizations.

Advancing to the final four in pursuit of the grand prize of $15,000 for the cause of their choice and a personal visit from the Harlem Globetrotters are: Metropolitan Ministries Partnership School in Tampa, Fla.; Savannah Christian Preparatory School in Richmond Hill, Ga; McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Md.; and Lower Dauphin Middle School in Hummelstown, Pa.

"The competition is really heating up," said Howard Johnson Brand Senior Vice President Rui Barros. "The remaining contestants all have great happy-spreading stories but only one can take home the grand prize. A single vote could be the difference between elimination and $15,000 for their cause. They need votes!"

The second round of The Give Happy Challenge is currently underway and will end at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Sunday, May 30, 2010 with the advancing finalists announced on June 1, 2010, when the final round of voting begins.

Voters will be able to cast one vote per day and the two finalists with the most votes will advance to the final round. Videos detailing each finalist's submissions as well as complete competition rules are available at
