Holiday Magic on Display at the Sherbrooke Village Old Fashioned Christmas

Government of Canada announces funding to the Historic Sherbrooke Village Development Society

SHERBROOKE, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwired - Aug. 16, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada has provided the Historic Sherbrooke Village Development Society with $7,300 in funding under the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program to present the 18th edition of the Sherbrooke Village Old Fashioned Christmas.

The two-weekend festival will feature performances by local musicians, demonstrations by local artisans, craft workshops, family and children's activities, and a historical tour of the village.

The Honourable Peter MacKay, Regional Minister for Nova Scotia, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

  • The 18th edition of the Sherbrooke Village Old Fashioned Christmas will take place from November 28 to 30 and December 5 to 7, 2014, on the premises of the Sherbrooke Village Museum and the surrounding area.
  • This year's celebrations will promote the work of more than 150 local artists, artisans and heritage presenters.
  • The Historic Sherbrooke Village Development Society is counting on the participation of over 300 volunteers who will dedicate more than 5,000 hours to the planning, execution and evaluation of the festival.
