NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 21, 2015) - Ms. Holly Keaster teaches Special Education students in grades 6 through 8 in the Delta Greely School District in Delta Junction, Alaska.

Ms. Keaster holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Administration from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, a Masters of Arts in Teaching from the State University of New York at Cortland in Cortland, New York and a Masters of Arts in Special Education from the University of Alaska, Southeast in Juneau, Alaska.

Holly grew up in Burnt Hills, New York and after receiving her teaching credential she moved to West Palm Beach, Florida where she taught high school Math in Pahokee, Florida at the beginning of her career. Her dedication to the teaching profession led her to make a bold move to Alaska in order to share her passion for teaching.

Ms. Keaster began her career in Alaska teaching Yupik Eskimo children in Tununak, Alaska where she taught at the middle school and high school levels. In this position, she was assigned to teach all subject matter except reading, which was assigned to another teacher. In 2009, Ms. Keaster relocated to Juneau, Alaska to teach high school Math for one year and then Special Education students for the next year. Enjoying the challenge and experience of teaching special needs students, Holly accepted a position in 2011 teaching Special Education in the Delta Greely School District in Delta Junction, Alaska.

Ms. Keaster was honored to be the graduation speaker for the class of 2011, in Tununak, Alaska. In 2015, she was nominated for the honor of Teacher of the Year in Delta Junction for the Delta Greely School District.

Ms. Keaster served as Union Representative for the National Education Association from 1987 to 1990 and then again from 2014 to present. Holly Keaster is also affiliated with the Council for Exceptional Children.

Recently married and the mother of two, Ms. Keaster enjoys time with her family, pets, traveling, art collecting and brain games on the computer to keep sharp and ahead of her students. Ms. Keaster, with 28 years of experience in the education field, continues to share herself, her extensive experience, knowledge, compassion and creativity in hopes of lighting a fire in her students and nurturing their passion for learning and knowledge.
