Home Lifestyle Expert Katie Brown Partners With The Companion Group for Outdoor Entertaining, Lighting, and Gardening Collection

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 15, 2006 -- Art-of-living expert and popular "how-to" television host Katie Brown, in partnership with The Companion Group in Emeryville, California, will launch a Katie Brown Collection of outdoor entertaining, lighting and gardening accessories. The Collection will be launched this fall for display in stores by spring and summer 2007.

The collaboration -- the first in Brown's licensing extension program -- was brokered by licensing and merchandising agency Global Icons.

The Katie Brown Collection will offer a range of products that represent Brown's emphasis on keeping things simple. Her dynamic trademark -- "Cook, Nest, Grow," representing all facets of home creativity -- will play a pivotal role in the branding, allowing strong cross-merchandising strategies across several product segments.

After meeting and working with Brown, Chuck Adams, CEO of The Companion Group, said that, "Katie's strong intuition for product, her commitment to elegant simplicity and affordability, and her common-sense approach to the home make her the best licensing partner imaginable."

"I couldn't have asked for a better company to capture the essence of who I am," said Katie Brown. "We're sharing the joy that comes from indulging in home arts -- and, for me, that's fantastic."

For over ten years, Brown -- a quintessential "Jill-of-all-trades" with her creative, do-it-yourself approach to home and hearth -- has made it her mission to embrace at-home projects of all kinds. Katie Brown provides easy-to-follow methods to turn any home novice -- especially those on a limited schedule and budget -- into a master of cooking, decorating, gardening, crafting, and entertaining.

Mike Gard, COO of Global Icons, said, "This exciting deal creates a strong foundation for Katie's special consumer licensing plans." Categories available for Katie Brown licensing are home furnishings and décor, housewares, tabletop, arts and crafts, gift and stationery, food, and seasonal items.
