BEAVERTON, OR--(Marketwired - Jul 17, 2013) -
- HomeGrid Forum announces 12 new products have been awarded HomeGrid's HomePNA product certification
- Brings the number of certified HomePNA products to 96
HomeGrid Forum today announced that twelve new products from seven vendors have passed certification testing for HomePNA interoperability and compliance. The newly certified HomePNA products feature set-top boxes from Arris and Kaon Media, residential gateways from ZyXEL and Pace, an Ethernet to HomePNA bridge from Cameo, ONTs from Calix and a new reference board from Sigma Designs. The new products have been added to HomeGrid Forum's HomePNA products webpage at http://www.homegridforum.org/content/pages.php?pg=certification.
The announcement is the first since the HomePNA Alliance merged into the HomeGrid Forum to create a larger, stronger industry association dedicated to the development and promotion of home networking technologies over any wire in the home based on the robust standards approved by the ITU-T.
"With an installed base of over 40 million HomePNA products, the technology continues to be a core home network selection of service providers worldwide," said John Egan, President of the HomeGrid Forum." The ongoing introduction of new certified HomePNA products to the market is a good indication of continuing demand from Service Providers for high quality interoperable HomePNA products as they expand their service areas and rely on HomePNA for robust home networks that support HD IPTV."
The HomeGrid Forum's certification program for HomePNA products enables service providers to select products for deployment with confidence in their interoperability and performance, and OEMs and ODMs to select from certified HomePNA reference boards to speed time to market for their systems. The broad range of certified HomePNA products includes IP set-top boxes, residential gateways, optical network terminals and Ethernet to HomePNA bridges.
