Homeland Uranium Inc. Begins Drill Program in Niger

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 26, 2009) - Homeland Uranium Inc., ("Homeland or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has initiated a 7,500 meter drill program on its Agelal concessions in Niger's Tim Mersoi Basin, the world's third largest uranium district. Located 10 kilometers west of Arlit and contiguous with AREVA's operating Somair uranium mine property, the four Agelal concessions total approximately 1,800 square kilometers.

Drilling Near Surface Mineralization

Homeland's drill program is testing a near surface mineralized zone which was first discovered during reconnaissance drilling carried out by the Company last year. Hole AGL-08-02, intersected 4 meters grading 0.126% U3O8 beginning at a true depth of 70 meters below surface.

Drilling to date has extended what appears to be a flat-lying to shallow dipping mineralized zone along strike for more than 400 meters. Hosted in sandstones of the Madouela Formation, uranium mineralization has been intersected in several holes at shallow depths of approximately 70 meters. Production at Areva's Somair mine takes place from depths of 40 to 80 meters in several open pits.

Samples from the first 17 holes have been shipped to SGS Laboratories in Toronto with assays expected by late March.

Broad MMI Anomaly at Asekra

On the Company's adjoining Asekra property, located approximately 70 kilometers southwest of Arlit, a geochemical survey conducted last year revealed a broad, multi point MMI (Multi Metal Ion) anomaly. Several radon anomalies were also identified on both the Asekra and Agelal concessions. An airborne geophysical program is also planned for the Asekra concessions, tentatively scheduled to be flown in March or April of this year.

QC/QA Programs

Homeland's Niger exploration program is being conducted under the direction of Bill Cronk, M.Sc., P.Geo, Exploration Manager and the Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Strict sampling and QC/QA protocol are followed, including the insertion of standards, blanks, and duplicates on a regular basis. The sample interval is one meter. Samples are sent to SGS Laboratories in Toronto, Ontario for sample preparation and analysis. Samples are prepared to -200 mesh then sent for 52 element analysis using a two acid digestion process followed by ICP-AES and ICP-MS finish.
