Free, Easy to Use Service Finds Available Mortgage Assistance Options

The Mortgage Assistance Advisor(SM) provides a simple, step-by-step process to guide the homeowner to possible workout solutions for their unique situation. There is no fee to use the Mortgage Assistance Advisor(SM), which is provided by Springboard -- a HUD approved housing counseling agency that has been helping people since 1974. Springboard has helped almost 250,000 homeowners since the financial crisis began in 2007.

The new online resource tool is available to help struggling homeowners navigate the many government, servicer and agency programs offering mortgage payment relief. Springboard's Mortgage Assistance Advisor(SM) is a virtual tool that may be accessed 24-hours a day, 7-days a week through, the agency's web portal specifically designed to provide homeowners with the latest information on home preservation and foreclosure prevention.

Struggling homeowners now can visit to find out what's right for them. The counselor will be able to use the data from to navigate and discuss the different options available to the homeowner. If need be, the counselor will engage in a conference call with the homeowner and the mortgage servicer to begin the work-out process.

Springboard provides telephone counseling services to struggling homeowners nationwide. "We have counselors standing by to help homeowners," said Horvath.

Springboard's Mortgage Assistance Advisor(SM) is simple to use. Once the homeowner completes a short questionnaire, the Mortgage Assistance Advisor(SM) will provide a list of potential program solutions. The homeowner will also have the option of speaking directly with a Springboard financial counselor who will answer any question related to specific mortgage relief programs.

"There is no charge to speak with a counselor or to access the Online Mortgage Advisor," said Opperman. "This is an enhanced level of service and help that we're pleased to provide homeowners," said Opperman.
