The Homes for Heroes Foundation and Williams & Williams® Partner to Increase Charitable Contributions Through Real Estate Sales

Auction Firm's New REAL GIFT™ Program Turns Real Estate Into Cash Donations With Benefits for the Giver and Receiver

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - Nov 8, 2012) - The Homes for Heroes Foundation, a public charity whose mission is to provide or coordinate financial assistance and housing resources to our nation's heroes, and Williams & Williams®, the premier brand in real estate auction, today announced an innovative partnership to increase financial contributions through real estate sales. Williams & Williams REAL GIFT program provides a turnkey solution to increase cash contributions through real estate sales without the property management uncertainty that causes most charities to turn away real estate-related donations. The Homes for Heroes Foundation is the first national charitable organization to take advantage of this new program to increase its ability to provide assistance to heroes such as Military personnel, Police/Peace Officers, Firefighters and First Responders who demonstrate neediness.

Hurricane Sandy provided an opportunity for our heroes to showcase their skill, passion, and selfless dedication to duty. Many organizations out there support our Military heroes, but The Homes for Heroes Foundation is the only one specifically created to support all our nation's heroes! "As such we get numerous requests from the vast hero population who selflessly protects us daily! Turning away a donation of any kind, especially a substantial one like real estate, is painful," expressed Helen Johnson, Co-Founder and Vice President of the Homes for Heroes Foundation. "When Williams & Williams walked us through their REAL GIFT program, we were elated. It solves a problem we have been unable to fix up to this point."

"The desire to donate real estate to benefit a favorite charity has always been strong," said DC Roberts, Williams & Williams, National Sales Director, Distinctive, International and Charitable Sales. "We worked with legal and tax experts to develop our REAL GIFT program to take the burden off the giver and the charity, and to turn sold real estate into financial contributions."

Williams & Williams developed its REAL GIFT auction program after meeting with many national charitable organizations. While charities expressed a desire to accept real estate donations nearly all said they did not have a solution to turn the donation into a financial contribution in an expedited and manageable way. Williams & Williams' REAL GIFT program works with the giver and the charity before the real estate is sold to execute a donation agreement. The auction firm then markets and auctions the property and all net proceeds are donated to the charity at closing. The entire process takes 65 days or less.

Due to the time-definite nature of auction sales, persons interested in taking advantage of this program to benefit The Homes for Heroes Foundation can do so before the end of the year, if they act quickly. To learn more about Williams & Williams REAL GIFT charitable opportunity visit
