Homes, Shopping Centers, Land to Sell in April 12-13 Georgia Auction

MARIETTA, GA--(Marketwire - March 22, 2011) - Shopping centers, stores, office buildings, homes, land and even an auto service garage are among the long list of bank-owned Georgia properties that will be sold in a two-day auction set for April 12-13.

The auction, managed by John Dixon & Associates, will be conducted in two main sessions -- one in Southeast Georgia on Tuesday, April 12, and one in Atlanta on Wednesday, April 13.

"This is literally one of the most attractive and diverse groups of properties we've sold in years," said John Dixon, president of the auction company. "We've got some very nice subdivision homes and some investment homes and rental units, as well as commercial properties and land."

In a prelude to the two multi-property auctions, the company will auction a home and student apartment at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Valdosta. The multi-property sale will begin at 2 that afternoon at the Quality Inn & Suites, Waycross, with the auction of approximately 24 homes as well as industrial/commercial buildings, office units, retail shops and rental units.

On Wednesday, the auction will shift to Atlanta, where a 2 p.m. auction will include land, commercial properties, a home, a lot on Lake Lanier, and two retail centers. That event will take place at the Hampton Inn, 2733 Circle 75 Parkway, Atlanta.

"The overwhelming majority of these properties are bank-owned, and there will be a number of opportunities for buyers to obtain homes, commercial property, land, retail properties and other real estate for prices that would not have been possible before," said Dixon.

The Southeast Georgia properties are concentrated around Waycross and Jesup, primarily in Ware and Wayne counties. The properties being sold in the Wednesday sessions are scattered throughout the greater Atlanta area.
