HomeTrust Mortgage Selects WebEx PCNow to Simplify Remote Access for All Employees

PCNow Enables Access to a PC or a Mac From Any Remote Computer or Mobile Device and Eliminates the Need for Virtual Private Network

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - March 11, 2008) - Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) today announced that HomeTrust Mortgage has selected WebEx PCNow to simplify how its employees access what they need from their computers, no matter what their location. PCNow helps enable HomeTrust's employees to get the files and programs they need, wherever they are. It also allows them to invite a guest to view or control their desktop for collaboration or troubleshooting at any time. HomeTrust Mortgage, an Illinois-based mortgage broker, is based in Schaumburg, IL but has employees that work from remote locations as well.

WebEx PCNow (http://www.webex.com/go/pcnowaccess) is an easy-to-use, highly secure, remote-access software service that allows users to connect to their PCs or Macs using a standard web browser and work as if they were sitting at the remote computer. In real time, PCNow allows a user to easily connect to any PC or Mac from any other PC, Mac, or wireless device. No software is installed on the local computer or mobile device, and data, email and files are extremely secure. Users can support clients, coworkers, friends and family by sharing files, presentations and training sessions over the web by simply using just an Internet connection.

"I have an employee in Texas. He is able to do business exactly as if he were sitting in our corporate offices. If I want the freedom to work from my vacation home, PCNow lets me do that when I want to, and I can do anything there that I could do in the office," said Evan Geiselhart, CEO of HomeTrust Mortgage. "The service was also incredibly easy to learn to use. It was intuitive. Another thing to note is that in this industry we need to monitor security very closely. The security inherent in PCNow is one of the key reasons we chose the service."

Often, small businesses find the expenses of employing an IT person and setting up a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to be quite high. WebEx PCNow eliminates the need for both. Geiselhart continues, "The software we use does not lend itself to being put on a remote computer, and a VPN was too unwieldy. It was expensive to keep an IT person working on setting up a VPN and sometimes they couldn't get it right, which left us unable to access our business resources, clients, and documents for hours at a time. With PCNow, that's not ever a problem."

HomeTrust Mortgage employees and other PCNow users are also able to look up contacts, send emails, and manage their schedules with remote access to Outlook from any PC, Mac, or mobile phone. They are also able to eliminate the hassles of emailing files or loading them onto a memory stick as they rush out the door. 100MB of free online storage is included with the PCNow service to store documents in a highly secure way and help enable access even when their computers are off-line.
