Homeward Trust Edmonton and Community to Celebrate National Housing Day

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Nov. 19, 2010) - November 22nd marks National Housing Day in Canada, a day to recognize progress, and the people and organizations that advance affordable housing. Homeward Trust Edmonton, in conjunction with community partners, is hosting a luncheon to mark this day and celebrate the work happening in Edmonton.

2010 National Housing Day Luncheon

Date: Monday, November 22nd

Time: 11:30 – 1:30pm; program and keynote at 12:30

Location: Delta Edmonton Centre (3rd Floor, 10222 – 102 St)

Keith Palmer's keynote address, "Affordable Housing: Everybody Needs a Place to Call Home – But Where?" will focus on community engagement, achieving support, and building capacity prior to commencing a project. Mr. Palmer, bringing vast experience in leadership and municipal government, will touch on one of the most important issues the community is addressing.

Susan McGee, Executive Director of Homeward Trust, will be available for interviews.

Homeward Trust Edmonton is a not for profit organization that uses a community-based approach toward the goal of ending homelessness in Edmonton. Our primary role is to coordinate response to housing needs by working together with local agencies and all orders of government
