Homeward Trust Edmonton: Grand Opening of Canora Place: 30 New Units to Support Previously Homeless

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 23, 2011) - On Thursday, March 24th, government and community leaders will gather to mark the opening of Canora Place, a 30-unit apartment complex providing housing for previously homeless Edmontonians, developed by the Jasper Place Health and Wellness Centre.

The Hon. Jonathan Denis, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs for the Government of Alberta, will provide remarks. He will be joined by Susan McGee, Executive Director of Homeward Trust Edmonton – who provided funding through the Government of Canada's Homelessness Partnering Strategy, Scott Coles, Executive Director of the Jasper Place Health and Wellness Centre, and representatives of partner organizations.

Where: 10141 – 153 Street
When: Program at 12:30pm

Following the program, a ribbon-cutting will be held on the front steps. Tours of the building will also be provided.

Homeward Trust Edmonton is a not for profit organization that uses a community-based approach toward the goal of ending homelessness in Edmonton. Our primary role is to coordinate response to housing needs by working together with local agencies and all orders of government
