On that day, companies and organizations from around Hamburg came together to create one spectacular outreach event for those in need. And leading the way was the Renaissance Hamburg Hotel.
Known as the Hamburg Wellness Morning, the event welcomed the city's homeless and needy to the St. Ansgar School for a comprehensive respite from their troubles. The morning began with a complimentary breakfast hosted by one of the finest city-center hotels in Hamburg, the Renaissance Hamburg Hotel.
Approximately 350 disadvantaged attendees benefited from the bounty provided by the hotel. That translated to a staggering 40 kg of fruit; 35 kg of yogurt; 7.5 kg of salmon; 750 French rolls, croissants and muffins; pickled herring; and nearly 100 liters of milk served to those who needed it most.
The event was hosted by Malteser International, a Catholic relief organization that provides humanitarian aid around the world. And they could not have asked for a better qualified breakfast provider. The hotel is home to one of the most compelling German restaurants in Hamburg, broscheks, and its nearly 4,500 square feet of event space enjoys some of the best catering in town. Of course, the proof, as they say, is in the pudding, and everyone who dined at this event went away happy.
As the most important meal of the day, this breakfast prepared attendees for hours of beneficial services. Companies volunteered everything from personal care (think showers, manicures, pedicures and hairdressing) to social and legal counseling, medical and dental services and even veterinary assistance.
The response to the morning was overwhelmingly positive from both the attendees and the volunteers. And it was the sort of event that resonates strongly with the ethics of the hotel's umbrella company, Marriott International.
