HOPE Volleyball SummerFest 2008: One Great Way to Make a Difference

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 29, 2008) - The 26th edition of HOPE Volleyball SummerFest returns to Mooney's Bay Beach on Saturday July 12th for another blockbuster day of fun, sun, sand, volleyball and live entertainment all in support of local charity.

General team registration opens Friday May 2nd and organizers expect another sell out before the registration deadline of May 30th. Participants can register a co-ed team in one of the tournament's 5 Divisions:



Recreational Adult - It's all about fun... No experience required
Recreational Youth - for younger players aged 13-18
Ottawa Citizen Corporate Challenge - Recreational play with exclusive
VIP Perks
Alcatel-Lucent Competitive - for more serious players who like to spike
Competitive Plus - competitive volleyball with the same VIP perks


Funds generated by the planet's biggest charity beach volleyball tournament this year will support the following important community causes: Canadian Diabetes Association-Ottawa & District Branch, Kidney Foundation of Canada-Eastern Ontario Branch, Ottawa-Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities, Ottawa Deaf Centre, Ottawa Food Bank, and the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.

In addition to funds raised through sponsorship, team registration and on site concession sales, participants can do even more for these charities by collecting pledges. The Hope Pledge and Win program once again has great incentive prizes up for grabs including Airfare for two to London or Paris aboard Zoom Airlines, fitness memberships, Saab Salon.Spa gift certificates, Fun Junction activity vouchers and this year's top fundraiser will once again win their way to the Caribbean with Go Travel Direct.

The bigger and better stage and soundscape of the Rogers Amphitheatre returns to SummerFest at Mooney's Bay with a day long line-up of explosive, all-Canadian, musical acts that will be announced later this month.

As we launch into the second quarter-century of HOPE Volleyball SummerFest, creative agency Bird Dog Design brings a bright, bold and fun new look and feel to the annual advertising campaign, which now includes 10 "HOPE Busses," coming soon to a street near you.
