Hornblower Old Sacramento Begins Evening River Cruises, Dinner and Brunch Cruises This Friday

OLD SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - August 18, 2009) - Following a successful summer of Historic River Tours, Hornblower Old Sacramento has announced its Fall 2009 Evening River, Dinner Dance and Champagne Brunch cruise schedule. Starting Friday, Aug. 21, Evening and Dinner cruises will depart at 7 p.m. and return at 9:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Brunch Cruises will depart at 10:30 a.m. and return at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. All cruises depart from and return to Hornblower Landing at the L Street Dock in Old Sacramento.

"Since we arrived in Sacramento three months ago, the city, its residents and its visitors have been nothing but welcoming to Hornblower and enthusiastic about our Historic River Tours," said Annabella Stagner, General Manager and Vice President of Hornblower Old Sacramento. "We are thrilled to introduce our new dining and sightseeing cruises and to offer people new ways to get out and enjoy the Sacramento River."

Evening, Dinner and Brunch cruises will be held aboard the M/V Empress Hornblower, a classic paddle wheel-style yacht reminiscent of the 1850s vessels that traveled the river when Old Sacramento was a booming port. Equipped with a full modern galley and capable of preparing all meals on board, Empress Hornblower seats 150 and has large windows and a spacious outdoor deck, ideal for admiring the scenic Sacramento River.

Evening River Cruises take advantage of the views offered by Empress Hornblower's second deck and are an excellent way to take in the beautiful sunset and the scenic Sacramento River. Passengers will relax and enjoy the sights, as well as on-board entertainment and dancing, as they sip a complimentary glass of champagne. Additional beverages, including a full bar offering Hornblower's Signature Cocktails, and appetizers will be available for purchase.

Dinner Dance Cruise guests will enjoy a three-course meal, entertainment and dancing in Empress Hornblower's main deck dining room -- a perfect setting for admiring the views of the Sacramento River. A point of pride for Hornblower, guests will enjoy menus prepared with a focus on local and seasonal item.

Known along the California Coast for its lavish Champagne Brunch service, Hornblower brings this popular cruise to Old Sacramento. This signature Hornblower service will feature live entertainment, free-flowing champagne and a sumptuous buffet brunch.

Dinner Dance Cruise tickets are $69.00; Champagne Brunch Cruise tickets are $43.00 and Evening River Cruise tickets are $30.00. Tax and service are additional. Special rates available for seniors, military and children.

Hornblower, which began operating in Old Sacramento in June 2009, has a long-term contract with the City of Sacramento to provide Dinner and Brunch cruises, Historic River Tours and yacht charters on the Sacramento River. Charters are available on either the Empress Hornblower or on M/V Capitol Hornblower, a 200-passenger yacht that has been offering Historic River Tours twice daily since early June.
