Host Analytics Continues to Innovate, Bolsters SaaS-Based CPM Suite With More Than 30 New Features

Industry First Features Provide Advanced Insight Into Decision Making; SaaS-Based Delivery Method Enables Frequent Updates for Customers

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - May 16, 2011) - Host Analytics, the leading provider of SaaS-based corporate performance management (CPM) solutions, today announced the addition of more than 30 new features in Q1 2011 to the Host Analytics Corporate Performance Management Suite. This builds on the more than 150 new features delivered in 2010 to the company's industry praised solution that drives fact-based decisions for finance executives. Every month, Host Analytics delivers new features based on the feedback of its hundreds of customers. Those features included additions to the Host Analytics Executive Report Manager, a solution that provides complete and efficient reporting to drive more effective corporate decision-making.

Planar Systems, Inc. a global leader in specialty display technology, implemented Host Analytics CPM solution in mid 2010. In regards to the new release, its financial planning and analysis manager, Dave Wachsmuth stated, "Host Analytics gives us access to data and reports that we just didn't have with our previous manual financial process. This in turn allows us to make more informed decisions, such as using regional sales and expense trends to plan growth strategies. We're also taking advantage of newer features such as ERM and expect those to drive even more improvements in the business while also freeing up time to focus on analysis and insights."

With the new features released every month during Q1 2011, Host Analytics customers will enjoy even more features that free-up their time from low-level data management so that they can focus on driving strategic business decisions.

  • Executive Report Manager variables that streamline executive, management and regulatory reporting. These variables act as mail-merge fields that automatically update when customers run a report, allowing them to reduce the time it takes to create or update a report by hours.

  • New master-dependent feature that acts as a centralized information core, allowing users to define and push information relevant to other applications, to keep them in sync. This feature provides a consistent budgeting method across a company and its subsidiaries or franchises, saving customers time from having to change a budgeting method one-by-one at the sub-entity level. On average, this feature saves customers one day per month, per application that they manage.

  • Offline planning, an industry-leading feature that enables users to download a portion of the Host Analytics CPM suite, which allows for planning while disconnected from the main SaaS suite. Users can input their planning into the familiar spreadsheet environment and move their information over to the main suite when they regain access at a later time.

  • Schedule simulation capability, which allows customers to define when they want to initiate budget simulations. This feature eliminates traditional one-by-one manual simulations, which provides for quicker and improved reporting. This feature allows a one-time budgeting schedule to be set, which allows users to work on other applications while the process is in motion.

As with each new release, all enhancements are propagated across product lines seamlessly reaching hundreds of Host Analytics' customers without impacting existing configurations and customizations. This is only possible with the modern multi-tenant SaaS Architecture found in Host Analytics CPM Suite.

"As a veteran in the CPM space for 20 years, I can safely say that the speed of innovation and the frequency of new releases in the cloud computing model is just not possible in the old on-premise world. We release new features every month while on-premise vendors release every two to three years and sometimes longer. Customers of SaaS solutions, such as those from Host Analytics, Salesforce.com, and Netsuite gain a competitive edge because they can operate faster than their competitors who are stuck with on-premise vendors. The SaaS model has allowed us to listen to our customers to easily and quickly add and deliver extensive product features to address their growing needs," said Jon Kondo, CEO at Host Analytics.
