Hostelling International-USA and Epiar Join Forces to Build an Online Travel Community

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 28, 2011) - Hostelling is a billion dollar industry, with both private companies and non-profits vying for accommodation bookings and online traffic. While single operators and small chains are motivated by profit margins, Hostelling International USA (HI-USA), a non-profit organization, is determined to maximize their market share as they work to achieve their mission to help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of the world and its people through hostelling.

HI-USA is not at all intimated by this competitive environment. Instead, this forward-thinking, mission-driven organization is embarking on an aggressive online marketing campaign that includes enlisting the services of Epiar, a leading Alberta search engine marketing firm. To coincide with the redevelopment of HI-USA's current website, Epiar will use its proprietary software to conduct extensive keyword research and make recommendations regarding the site plan, meaningful content and proven search engine optimization strategies. The goal for both parties is increased qualified traffic and making HI-USA competitive at not only a local, but national and even international level.

With their national office in Silver Spring, Maryland, how did HI-USA locate and select an Edmonton-based SEO company nearly 4000 km away? Marketing Director, Mark Vidalin, came across the name Epiar in many sources as he searched for an SEO partner. When he introduced the organization's challenges and vision to the Epiar team, he was impressed with their understanding of the project and their flexibility in offering solutions that would allow HI-USA to track and measure success. Vidalin commented, "I am confident that they are committed to helping us build not just an accommodations network, but a community movement".

The two organizations will collaborate over the coming months, implementing recommendations into HI-USA's new website later this summer and analyzing the impact. Both are excited about this new path, as HI-USA uses the internet to build an online and global community – one that appeals to and engages free independent travelers, that encourages transactional relationships, and that supports and perpetuates the mission of Hostelling International-USA.
