Housing Markets in Hamilton and Brantford to Gradually Recover in 2013

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 25, 2013) - According to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's (CMHC) Spring Housing Market Outlook report for the Hamilton and Brantford Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs), existing home sales will begin to recover in the third quarter of 2013. In the new home markets, residential construction activities will return to more sustainable levels in line with recent rates of household formation.

"Higher net migration, improving job creation and income growth will support the housing market recovery in both Hamilton and Brantford," said Abdul Kargbo, CMHC Senior Market Analyst for the Hamilton and Brantford CMAs.
