Houston-Based Home Builder Names New President

HOUSTON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 11, 2006 -- Trendmaker Homes recently announced that Executive Vice President Will Holder has been promoted to President of the Houston-based subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company (WRECO). Sam Hathorn, who held the position of President since 1984, will remain with Trendmaker as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.

Trendmaker Homes was founded in Houston, Texas in 1971 and has pioneered the "high-end production home" market segment. Unit sales increased from 260 in 1993 to an estimated 860 for 2006. Total revenue increased seven-fold from $44 million in 1993 to almost $300 million anticipated for 2006.

Will Holder began his career in home building in Houston over 25 years ago. Prior to joining Trendmaker, Holder worked for national builders, building homes in 16 major U.S. markets. Holder joined Trendmaker Homes in 1993 as General Manager of Housing and was later promoted to Executive Vice President. Will is a native Texan with a Bachelor of Arts from Texas State University and a Masters of Business Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

"I'm excited at the opportunity to both lead this trendsetting building company and to follow in the footsteps of someone who has done such an incredible job in leading our company to unprecedented success," said Holder. "Sam Hathorn is respected in the homebuilding industry, not just in Texas, where Trendmaker is headquartered, but throughout the United States," he finished. Mr. Hathorn's involvement in the real estate industry spans over 40 years including the past 25+ years with Trendmaker. This underscores the continuity of management that few companies in this industry could ever achieve. This same kind of long tenure is reflected throughout the Trendmaker Homes' organization.

"It takes a company that can grow fast and still remain nimble enough to adapt quickly to succeed," stated Hathorn. "Choosing Will Holder as the next President was something the Board knew was the right move. He is a man with tremendous drive, creativity, vision, motivation and inspiration."

Since its founding, Trendmaker has become the industry leader in luxury production homes in the Houston new home market. With over 160 employees in the Houston-area and homes in the finest neighborhoods and master-planned communities throughout the city, Trendmaker continually strives to offer the highest quality product and service to its customers.

Trendmaker also operates as Trendmaker Development Company, a leading developer of master planned communities including Green Trails, the 1250-acre Grand Lakes and soon to break ground, the 3,000 plus-acre Cross Creek Ranch -- all on Houston's fast-growing west side.
