Houston Custom Furniture Store, The Amish Craftsman, Introduces Traditional Amish Builders to Houston Community at Upcoming "Meet the Builder" Event May 7

Building Better Furniture and Raising the Bar in "Made in America" Quality and Craftsmanship, The Amish Craftsman Strengthens Foothold in Houston Furniture Market

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - April 7, 2011) - Preserving the traditions of the Amish "craftsman" and building long-lasting relationships along with quality furniture worthy of passing from one generation to the next, The Amish Craftsman in Houston celebrates the backbone of their business and hosts a "Meet the Builder" event Saturday, May 7 (10am-6pm) at their 5555 Washington Avenue location.

The Houston community will have the unique opportunity to meet the Amish builders and their families, who will travel by train nearly 30 hours to meet their customers.

The builders will showcase some of their fine wood furniture products, discuss woodworking techniques and answer questions at the day-long event, which will feature family fun and refreshments. There will also be giveaways and special offers on orders placed that day.

"We are truly excited to have some of our favorite builders make this trip to meet the people who buy their furniture. The relationships they build with these families are as important to them as the furniture they create with such care and craftsmanship," said Kimberly Murphy, co-owner of The Amish Craftsman.

"This talented and dedicated group of craftsmen is traveling by train from northern Indiana. They will talk about the furniture they build, their traditional techniques and the rich history of their craft," added Murphy.

The Amish builders specialize in living room, dining room, bedroom and home office furniture -- customizing to suit size, stain specifications and wood preferences. The highest quality wood, stains and hardware are the signature elements of each Amish crafted piece.

Locally owned and operated, The Amish Craftsman is committed to providing the highest quality furniture -- symbolic of the pride early American craftsmen had in the pieces intended for their families and generations to come.
