Houston Texans Player Appearance Event at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital - Public Invited to Attend

Meet a Houston Texans Player and the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Physicians Keeping Athletes Throughout Our Community in the Game

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - Dec 3, 2012) - A Houston Texans football player will be on hand at a special Houston Texans Player Appearance Event at Methodist Willowbrook Tuesday, December 4 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. He will be joined by the elite team of orthopedic and sports medicine physicians from Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine at Willowbrook.

The event is free and open to the public. It is located in the new Women's & Children's Pavilion within Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, 18220 State Highway 249, Houston. Kids are welcome and refreshments will be served. There will be autographs and giveaways. For questions about this event call 281.737.2500.

Orthopedic and sports medicine physicians, who serve as team doctors to high school sports teams throughout Houston as well as professional sports organizations, will be on hand to talk about common sports injuries and answer questions. They include Plinio Caldera, MD - general orthopedics, Travis Hanson, MD - foot & ankle, HoSun Hwang, MD - Spine, Korsh Jafarnia, MD - hand & upper extremity, Bruce Moseley, MD - orthopedic sports medicine, and John Seaberg, MD - orthopedic sports medicine.

"These events are a great opportunity for us to meet our community. The athletes enjoy meeting their fans as much as they enjoy meeting the athlete. And we're able to talk with them about some of the concerns they have for their young athlete or themselves," said Dr. Jafarnia.

Located within the Methodist Center for Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine, the Sports Health resources available include expansive running and throwing lanes for athletic evaluations and post injury conditioning, physical and occupational therapies, comprehensive rehabilitation services, concussion management using computerized neuropsychological testing. And a new state-of-the-art human performance lab is now open under the direction of Scott Rand, MD - primary care sports medicine physician, and senior exercise physiologist Mark Morrison.

Expanding its NW Houston campus, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital has received its chest pain and stroke accreditations, performs complex surgeries such as neurosurgery and open heart, boasts a state-of-the-art orthopedic, sports medicine and rehabilitation center and focuses on women and children in its new Women's & Children's Pavilion. The Methodist Hospital System is the official healthcare provider of the Houston Texans.
