Howl at the Moon Features Pianos, Food, and Fun

Pioneer Square Welcomes New Neighbor

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 16, 2005 -- Howl at the Moon, the total entertainment experience where piano players and staff create spontaneous and zany shows, opened last month in Pioneer Square. Part piano bar, part comedy show, and part sing-along, the eclectic nightclub features talented performers who encourage requests and audience participation while masterfully playing two baby grand pianos and singing crowd pleasing favorites. As shows get underway, entertainment is enhanced by a drummer and guitarist. Located at 315 2nd Avenue South, a $1.2 million renovation to the space includes detailed millwork throughout, state of the art sound system, and complete kitchen remodel. The space was the previous home of the Fenix Underground which has since relocated within Pioneer Square after the earthquake of 2001.

Since opening the first location in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1990, Howl at the Moon has enjoyed tremendous success within all of its markets nationwide, with locations in Cleveland, Baltimore, New Orleans, Chicago, Hollywood, Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Walton Beach, Tampa, Louisville, Indianapolis, San Antonio, and Orlando. "Howl at the Moon is the type of venue where everyone in the club participates in the fun; we're all about high energy and never offering the same show twice," explains Rich McClusky, General Manager of the Seattle location. "We offer the perfect spot for all of life's celebrations: birthdays, anniversaries, office parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties... you name it," adds McClusky. The non-stop format of each evening involves the rotation of pianists each hour, with additional musicians sharing the stage for a few songs during the rotation. During the changeover, known as "Showtime," all Howl service employees join the fun by leading the audience through choreographed routines to animated versions of popular tunes that include nostalgic TV shows and commercial jingles. Audience participation approaches 100% during "Showtime" and is enhanced by the high level energy of the live music.
