HQS at European Seafood Exposition

ACC Certified Product a Finalist in New Product Competition

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - April 21, 2008) - HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries, Inc. (AMEX: HQS) ("HQS" or the "Company"), a leader in toxin-free integrated aquaculture and aquatic product processing with operations in Hainan, PRC, today announced that the Company will present the Company's range of recently ACC certified Tilapia products (Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) for tilapia aquaculture operations based on proposed standards developed by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA)), to the European markets at the European Seafood Exposition, April 21st to the 23rd.

HQS' Tilapia paddy, flavored with "Italian Spice" has been selected as a finalist in the "New Product Competition." The company will also present new "organic" Tilapia product and Cold and hot smoked organic Tilapia fillet (skin on) at the show for the first time.

HQS' management believes that Europe's markets are unique and HQS' recent ACC certification combined with new value-added products is well suited to consumer demand there.

In the EU's capital, Brussels, HQ will also highlight its fundamental commitment to sustainable aquaculture and healthy toxin-free seafood to feed the world.

HQS' tilapia is produced on the pristine Hainan Island in China, an ecological haven where polluting heavy industry is not allowed. The island economy has been centered on tourism and food production. HQS' freshwater tilapia products include no hormones, antibiotics or other toxins and are free of heavy metals associated with ocean-harvested products. Their fresh clean taste is due to the natural farming methods in ponds that are richly oxygenated to prevent algae growth that affects taste.
