HQS at World's Largest International Food Expo in Hong Kong

"Omojo" Brand Products Debut at Hong Kong Show, August 14th to the 18th, 2008

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - August 15, 2008) - HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries, Inc. (AMEX: HQS) ("HQS" or the "Company"), a leader in toxin-free integrated aquaculture and aquatic product processing including fish byproduct personal healthcare products with operations in Hainan, PRC, today announced that the Company is presenting a range of branded "Omojo" Bio-health products at the Food Expo in Hong Kong, the world's largest exhibition of its kind, August 14th to the 18th, 2008, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Wanchai, Hong Kong. HQS will be located at exhibitor booth 1J13.

The Expo will further introduce the Company's "Omojo" brand to Hong Kong. The brand name builds on a "Mojo" theme that adds an "O" for water (French "eau," or Ocean also Omega 3). "Omojo" is an upbeat theme, bringing the "Magic of O" to its customers while complementing "Value Added Living" for active people of all ages. This introduction of "Omojo" products in Hong Kong follows the brand's initial rollout in San Diego at the "Bio International Show" in June of this year.

Over 500 exhibitors from over 70 countries are expected to draw more than 300,000 people to the Expo. The show further enhances the rollout of HQ's health products launched recently in Hong Kong through Watson's stores.

More information can be found on the Show Web site at

The "Omojo" product line includes a number of items made by HQS from fish byproducts. Products are made from cartilage extract which improves the immune system, oils that increase the blood's ability to absorb oxygen, vitamins A, D and E, and Omega 3. "Omojo" products target all age groups.

The products are in pill format and in addition to broad health benefits for all consumers (vitamins A, E and D and Omega 3), each product targets particular health benefits for each age group;

-- immune system and bone density improvement from fish cartilage for older
-- blood oxygen enhancement from fish oils for active adults and AKG and
-- enhanced DHA Omega 3 for the young from fish oils.

More products including an anti-wrinkle fish cartilage extract (consumed both as a pill and applied topically) already sold by HQS in China, are expected to be added to the Hong Kong rollout later this year.
