HQSM Selects Seattle for Sales and Corporate Offices

Advisory Board to Draw Support From the Local Community

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 19, 2005 -- HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries, Inc. (HQ) (OTC BB: HQSM), a Delaware corporation engaged in integrated aquaculture and aquatic product processing, announced today that it has approved the establishment of its International Sales and new corporate offices in Seattle.

Locating in Seattle will be U.S. and International sales staff as well as the North American-based senior management, including CFO Jean-Pierre Dallaire. Seattle was chosen by management because of the strong appeal of HQSM's products to the buying public in the Pacific Northwest. These consumers are trendsetters for environmentally friendly products. The message of sustainability and the respect for fair trade are shared with the bulk of the buying public in the Seattle area.

HQSM also announces its intention to establish an advisory board tapping the energy and creative spirit of the area through the nomination of industry and 'non-governmental organisation' leaders, intent on promoting the HQSM message.

Said Norbert Sporns, CEO of HQSM: "Seattle is an important bridge to the Pacific Rim. The vision and energy found in this community will continue to demand from HQSM the achievement of the highest standards in the industry. This will help sensitize the buying public to the importance of the HQSM message. Our CFO and other senior management will maintain strict control of sales, marketing and distribution initiatives flowing from these offices."
