HRO World Summit Europe Announces Details of 2009 Event

First Time in London; More Than 250 Senior Executives Expected to Attend


LONDON--(Marketwire - October 9, 2009) - HROA Europe, the leading professional organization focused on the challenge of HR outsourcing, and SharedXpertise, an independent, global membership-based community of business professionals, today announced details of the upcoming 2009 HRO World Summit Europe. The largest and most comprehensive human resource operations (HRO) conference in Europe, this years' event will feature workshops and sessions focused on the summit's theme "HR's role in driving the CEO's agenda: Innovative execution and planning for recovery." More than 250 senior executives -- including Chief HR Officers, vice presidents of HR and Shared Services Management as well as executives from finance, IT and other areas that need to take advantage of the evolution of the HR function -- are expected exchange views on driving HR activities through shared services and outsourcing.

For the first time, the event is moving from Brussels to London, beginning an annual rotation around Europe. This year it will be held at Grange St Paul's, 10 Godliman St., from Wednesday, 18 November through Thursday, 19 November 2009. It will commence with a welcome reception on Tuesday, 17 November.

Keynote speaker Christophe Laval, author of the French-language book "A Plea for Recognition at Work," will discuss the intersection of three European mega trends -- performance management, HR outsourcing and recognition at work. Tim Palmer, conference chair and member of PA's Management Group, and Richard Coughlin, also a member of PA's Management Group, will host "Living with Zombies: HR's Cost Reduction Challenge in 2010," an interactive workshop for buyers on HR's key role in bringing the economy back to life. Sarah Seabury, director, TPI, will present "Service Delivery," a workshop for experienced buyers who are looking to drive success in existing outsourcing relationships.

Focused on actual customer experiences of primarily senior executives of Global 1000 organisations and government, additional sessions include an RPO case study presented by Wolfgang Brickwedde, senior director, EMEA Recruitment, SAP AG, and D. Zachary Misko, global director, RPO, Kelly Outsourcing and Consulting Group. Chris Lomer, European Compensation & Benefits Project manager at Avery Dennison will give a plenary case study on driving changes in multi-country payroll outsourcing projects. IBM will present a client case study on outsourced learning and how to construct a learning deal.
