Huawei Launches the First Full-Scenario Agile Controller 3.0 in the Industry Enabling Service Innovation in Cloud Era

SHANGHAI, CHINA--(Marketwired - Sep 1, 2016) - Huawei, a global leading information and communications technology (ICT) solution provider, launches the first full-scenario controller, Agile Controller 3.0 (AC 3.0 for short) in the industry at HUAWEI CONNECT 2016. The AC 3.0 focuses on four business scenarios (enterprise campus, data center network, WAN, and IoT) and provides the capabilities of on-demand network resource pool reservation, automatic deployment, intelligent optimization, and bandwidth adjustment on-demand for enterprise customers across campuses, carriers and data center networks. This can improve the resource scheduling efficiency in enterprise cloud services, and enhance network efficiency for carrier customers, while providing the ultra best customer experience.

Huawei advocates "All Cloud" and provides cloud-based products and solutions to help customers achieve digital transformation and operations. "We believe that the core of 'network cloudification' is to construct a network with 'soft edge' and 'hard core' using SDN and NFV, helping carriers upgrade the ROADS experience of telecommunication services on the hard pipes and providing new services in the public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, and cloud private line," said Liu Shaowei, president of Huawei enterprise networking product line.

The SDN solution based on the AC 3.0 assists carriers in establishing e-commercial network operation platforms to achieve top speed service provisioning and on-demand value-added service customization, building agile and open networks on demand, accelerating digitalization transformation, and adding pipe values. The SDN solution helps enterprises complete the digitalization transformation focusing on agility and intelligence, as well as morphing the networks from the support system to production system which not only improves the enterprise operation efficiency but also reduces labor overheads. It also provides the massive network management capability for customers in the IoT industry such as electric power and lighting, and open IoT data. "We believe the Agile Controller 3.0 will make networks more agile and we can collaborate with partners to help customers achieve business success and win-win outcomes for all," said Huang He, general manager of Huawei SDN controller domains.

The AC 3.0 is the "Super Brain" of networks which enables service innovation in cloud era. It supports unified control and flexible deployment in multiple business scenarios and meets the requirements of various service deployments and O&M, and the requirements of industry-leading data centers and commercial deployment of super-large networks. Based on the open ONOS platform, the AC 3.0 uses the app which has the loosely coupled architecture and can be integrated with the ODL and has abundant northbound API capabilities. Huawei SDN 2.0 provides comprehensive developer communities, remote labs, and innovation tools. Huawei launches 9 open network capabilities and 72 API interfaces at HUAWEI CONNECT 2016, implementing one-time integration for applications and partners to realize rapid innovation.

Huawei has participated in more than 200 commercial projects in SDN domains with carriers and enterprises, including Telefonica Spain, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, Telia, Tencent, Alibaba, China Construction Bank, China Southern Power Grid Company Limited, Vision China Media. Multiple scenarios are involved such as WANs, data center networks, enterprise campuses, and IoT. The edge between NE and network functions will become more blurring in the future. The full-scenario AC 3.0 can meet the requirements of the service and business diversity as well as multi-path technologies, maximizing network efficiency, monetizing pipe values, and promoting digital and intelligent society service innovation.
