HWI Global® Renews Contracts With Mount Sinai Medical Center for Clean-Room Preventative Maintenance

PITTSBURGH, PA--(Marketwire - May 18, 2011) - HWI Global, Inc., the Pittsburgh-based clean-room design builder, (OTCBB: IVTW) reports renewing Preventative Maintenance contracts with Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Continuing to expand the service arm of its specialty construction division, HWI Global® will provide services for the 6th Floor Sterile I.V. Pharmacy within the Guggenheim Pavilion of Mount Sinai Medical Center.

The Preventative Maintenance contract is in accordance with Federal mandate USP 797 requiring hospital pharmacies to conduct compounded sterile preparations in ISO classified clean-rooms. To satisfy the subsequent demand for client pharmacies to stay in compliance, HWI Global® has developed a program that offers routine maintenance through quarterly visits. Upon installation and certification of clean-room design-build projects, HWI® submits standard operating procedures (SOPs) for continuous upkeep and improvement. Each follow-up service and maintenance visit is guided by the SOP and generates a detailed report validating USP 797 compliance.

Deric Haddad, CEO, HWI Global® states, "It's very important to our customers that we don't just walk away once we've completed the clean-room renovation. A few years are needed for most professional technicians compounding in rooms to transition into clean and classified environments. Since many Facilities Directors don't have the available staff to take on this specialized task, the ongoing maintenance of these clean-rooms is not a realistic expectation. As the 'clean-room builder', HWI Global® can perform this function treating the room itself like a piece of equipment under a general warranty. We have implemented a cost-effective option; a dedicated plan for continued success."

HWI's® current Annual Service, Maintenance & Certification contract with Mount Sinai is a renewal of the previous year's contract now set to run through 2012. The scope consists of quarterly visits to perform clean-room equipment inspections for serviceability and cleanliness, reviews of cleaning procedures to rate the room's operating cleanliness, and mechanical service and upkeep of pass-through equipment. A semi-annual service will also replace the pre-filters on fan-powered HEPA modules, performing filter media challenge testing (aerosol tests), sensor calibration of the pressure differential instrumentation, and maintenance of the particle monitoring vacuum pump system. An annual visit will perform all the services including an extensive clean down and a re-calibration of the particle monitoring instrumentation.
