Hydrogen Engine Center, Inc. Unveils Its Hydrogen-Fueled Engine at the Aviation Industry Expo

Near-Zero-Emission Engine for Airport Ground Support Vehicles

ALGONA, IA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 20, 2007 -- Don Vanderbrook, Vice President and General Manager of Hydrogen Engine Center, Inc. (HEC) (OTCBB: HYEG), announced today the introduction of two new engines targeted to the Airport Ground Support Equipment ("GSE") market. The engines are being displayed at the Aviation Industry Expo, Booth #331, on March 20-22, 2007 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida.

In making the announcement, Vanderbrook stated, "The development of these two engines is in response to the many requests from interested parties worldwide seeking solutions related to the reduction of airport-related air quality issues."

The first engine being introduced is HEC's first-of-its-kind, 4.9 liter hydrogen-fueled, near-zero-emission engine. This engine is specifically designed to replace existing gasoline engines which are currently used by airport ground support vehicles and are compatible with C6 transmissions.

The second engine being introduced at the show is a soon-to-be-emission-certified version of the 4.9 liter engine scheduled for delivery to the Company's distribution network by fourth quarter 2007. This engine will be capable of running on compressed natural gas as well as liquid propane. It is also designed to be easily installed as a new replacement engine for airport ground support vehicles.

Ted Hollinger, HEC's co-founder and president, stated, "There is great anticipation in the industry for the certified version of the 4.9 liter engine. Not only does our replacement engine provide the flexibility of utilizing various alternative fuels, its form allows for fast, efficient and cost-effective engine replacement."
