LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Sep 7, 2016) - CTIA 2016 - i-BLADES, Inc., creator of the world's first Smartcase, today announced a Smartcase for the Samsung Galaxy S4, which now makes a wide selection of Galaxy smartphones modular. By adding the i-BLADES Smartcase, Galaxy users can enjoy modular functionality without buying a modular phone. The new Smartcase joins i-BLADES Smartcase offerings for the Galaxy S6 and S7. The Smartcases not only protect a user's phone, but also make it easy to snap-on and snap-off extra functions like battery power, memory and Virtual Reality.
i-BLADES will be demonstrating its new Galaxy S4 Smartcase along with the rest of the line in Booth #1370 in the Retail Store at CTIA 2016, Sept. 7 - 9 in Las Vegas. The company will also demonstrate another industry first, showing how a phone case delivers entertainment to users.
"The Galaxy S4 is still one of Samsung's most popular phones," said Jorge Fernandes, CEO of i-BLADES. "Now S4 users struggling with the thought of buying a brand new phone to get more capabilities, can keep their beloved S4 and simply upgrade it with an i-BLADES Smartcase. The i-BLADES Smartcase can provide protection, power, storage and even more cool functionality for Galaxy S4 users. Your S4 just got even better.
"We can give Smartphone users modularity whether they have a brand new phone or want to effectively upgrade an older model," said Fernandes.
The i-BLADES built-in patented micro-thin smart technology creates a smart platform within the phone case. This smart platform allows users to expand the capabilities of their smartphones. This is done through adding removable Smartblades on the back of the Smartcase.
A host of new Smartblades are under development. Currently, all i-BLADES Smartcases for the Samsung Galaxy range include the Turbo 64 Smartblade. This provides battery and memory for Galaxy users, including an additional micro SD slot. Users can also add the Smart VR Blade, a portable (and foldable) VR headset that attaches to the Smartcase and turns a phone's small screen into a big screen virtual reality video experience.
Since the i-BLADES Smartblades are stackable, multiple Smartblades can be charged at one time via their own USB or through the phone case. This lets users enjoy extremely long lasting power through multiple pocketable Smartblades. The Smartblades are also transferable to other Smartcase users both for future and for past smartphones.
Also on display will be a Smartcase that can be seen delivering movies to users -- no downloading or streaming required. Recognizing the changing world of smartphone and tablet usage, i-BLADES has made sure that this "on-the-go" entertainment solution charges a user's smartphone while watching a movie.
The Smartcase is available for limited launch price of $99 in polycarbonate and $129 in full-grain Italian leather. It will be available to all consumers in early October. For more information about the i-BLADES Smartcase visit: www.i-blades.com.
A Silicon Valley start-up, i-BLADES designs and markets modular add-on technology for the global smartphone market. CEO and founder Jorge Fernandes was one of the lead people in inventing the technology behind Apple Pay. The company created the world's first "Smartcase," a next-generation mobile phone case with smart technology inside. It's a modular expansion platform that lets users add functionality to smartphones, such as more battery life, more storage or solutions around air quality, VR headset, wellness, etc. A SmartApp allows users to enjoy mobile entertainment "on-the-go." With the i-BLADES Developer Program, companies can use the Smart Platform to create new function-specific Blades for every market imaginable.
