The IABC Edmonton 2011 Capital Awards Gala will reward the best of the best

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - May 18, 2011) - In just three short weeks, Northern Alberta's best communicators will take over the Winspear Centre as they vie to win some of their industry's most prestigious awards. Communicators will converge on June 2, 2011 to scrutinize, win and mingle at IABC Edmonton's annual Capital Awards Gala.

"The gala recognizes the best communications work in Northern Alberta," says IABC Edmonton President Max Frank. "It's also the premiere communications and networking event of the season."

In addition to awards in areas such as Communications & Marketing Programs & Campaigns, Special Events, Visual Communications and many more, IABC Edmonton will award three special awards. The Capital Communicator of the Year award goes to a senior leader in an organization who holds a non-communications position but who openly supports the importance of the role of communications in the organization's success. The Communicator of the Year award goes to a communications professional who has executed exemplary communication strategies and tactics in 2010 and throughout his/her career. The Member of the Year award goes to a member who has provided outstanding service to IABC Edmonton.

The 2011 Capital Awards Gala will take place at the Winspear Centre (9720 102 Avenue). Cocktails begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Annual General Meeting, dinner service and lastly the awards presentation at 7:00 p.m.
