IAE Selects the Mxi Maintenix System for In-Service Support of V2500 Engine

OTTAWA, CANADA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 11, 2005) - Mxi Technologies announced today that it is under contract to International Aero Engines AG (IAE) to supply the Mxi Maintenix software product as IAE's Fleet Data Management System. IAE selected the Maintenix system for its ability to provide effective in-service product support for IAE's V2500 fleet.

Using the Maintenix solution will allow IAE to compile engine data, ensure continuing data integrity, and enable reliable fleet-wide reporting and analysis for all 3 engine variants (-A1, -A5, and -D5) of the V2500 fleet. The system will be used to record event and shop visit status data; track Service Bulletin (SB) compliance; provide configuration management, including tracking of component utilization (e.g. flight hours and cycles); and, track engine operator and owner information, including registration and change of ownership. IAE Field Service Representatives will use the Maintenix software to input usage, maintenance, and fault and incident data. The workflow-based design of the Maintenix application streamlines this process, improving information accuracy and reducing the time spent entering data.

"One of the key reasons that IAE chose the Maintenix product from Mxi is its proven track record in OEM aftermarket support", said Greg Gernhardt, IAE's V.P. Customer Support. "Having the ability to accurately assess the current status of all engines in our program is essential, and we believe that the Mxi Maintenix system can meet our requirements in this area. Using Maintenix will allow us to provide efficient and cost-effective in-service product support to our V2500 customers."

Mxi's Maintenix product is specifically designed to manage the in-service portion of the life cycle of aviation assets. The Maintenix software supports organizations that operate or maintain fleets of aircraft and engines, as well as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) that provide post-delivery support services. To support in-service data management by OEMs, the Maintenix system provides: management of "as flown" and "as maintained" serialized configuration, life usage tracking, shop visit planning, management of engineering changes (including Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and SBs), and reliability monitoring and reporting.

The Maintenix solution will provide IAE with total, continuous visibility into the current status of every individual IAE engine, as well as fleet-wide summaries, at any time from any location in the world.

"To be selected by an industry leader like IAE shows that the Mxi Maintenix software is a premiere choice in M&E systems for aerospace OEM aftermarket support", said Doug Brouse, Mxi CEO. "The collection, analysis, and presentation of data in this field requires in-depth knowledge and a specialized approach, and we are pleased that IAE recognizes Mxi's expertise in this area."
