iamba Networks Names John Mein Vice President, Worldwide Sales

CUPERTINO,CA--(Marketwire - August 27, 2007) - iamba Networks, a leading provider of gigabit passive optical networking (GPON) solutions, today announced John Mein has joined the company in the position of Vice President, Worldwide Sales. He reports to Moshe Nattiv, iamba Networks President and CEO, and will oversee the company's global sales operations including sales, applications, and services.

"John brings to iamba decades of hands-on experience in sales in the telecom and networking semiconductors industry. His intimate knowledge of the varied aspects of the PON market coupled with his very strong technical foundations make John an ideal match for our company," said Nattiv. "Our entire team and I are excited to have John join iamba. We look forward to working with John to deliver iGES, iamba's GPON Eco-System, to the global GPON markets."

Mein brings to Iamba over 30 years' experience in sales, applications and engineering serving the last 10 years as Vice President of sales at semiconductor companies. Mein served most recently as Vice President of Worldwide Sales at privately held Teknovus, Inc., a provider of fourth generation EPON chipsets, where he grew revenues significantly in three years. Prior to Teknovus, he was Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Quake Technologies, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company providing physical layer (PHY) ICs for 10Gb/s applications for enterprise, data and storage networks. At Quake Mein grew revenues over 18 consecutive quarters from zero to $18M annually. Prior to Quake, Mein was Vice President of Sales at Galileo Technologies, a semiconductor company focused on embedded control systems and Ethernet switches for data communications where he grew revenues from $6.5M in 1996 to $100M by 2000. Prior to that Mein had held senior management positions at Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc., VLSI Technology, Inc., and Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT). Mein holds a BSEE degree from Kansas State University and an MSEE from Stanford University.

"I believe that the future of Access lies in the high-data rates and low-cost of maintenance offered to operators worldwide by carrier-class GPON technology. The extensive field trials and strong initial customer acceptance of solutions developed at iamba Networks coupled with the company's superior engineering expertise were key factors in my decision to join the company. I look forward to leading the sales efforts at iamba as we move from FPGA-based solutions to feature-rich and highly cost effective ASIC-based products," says Mein.
