Seasoned Mobile Executive Has Led New Service Development and Revenue Strategies Based on Range of Wireless Technologies for Emerging and Established Operators Globally

Roy was most recently a fellow with the firm, focusing on advising senior management at top service providers and device makers on the latest technology-based growth and retention strategies, including those supported by Wi-Fi, LTE-A and small cells.

An expert on wireless technologies, Roy has helped strategize, design, test and deploy cellular, Wi-Fi, and heterogeneous networks and services for leading operators globally. Recently, Roy has focused on seamless handoffs between cellular and Wi-Fi networks to improve the user experience. He has a proven track record of developing mobile broadband strategies to address customer acquisition, business growth, churn reduction and monetization.

Roy is a seasoned mobile executive with achievements that include leading the development and implementation of a large-scale multi-operator Wi-Fi roaming service, advising operators on AWS and 700 MHz spectrum acquisition and bidding strategies for FCC auctions and launching public safety and utility services on LTE networks. He has also created public Wi-Fi business models for a range of venue types and driven the planning, design and deployment of a greenfield wireless network in a developing country.

Prior to joining IBB, Roy was the chief wireless network architect for one of the world's largest consulting firms, leading the development of its new consumer and commercial services. He has also held senior positions in global wireless networking consulting firms, OEM vendors and wireless operators, responsible for advising senior wireless executives, driving service development using new technologies and guiding new spectrum acquisitions. Roy earned an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and holds a B. Tech in telecommunications from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
