IBC Announces FDA/CBER to Be a Featured Speaker at the 11th International Process Validation for Biologicals Conference

WESTBOROUGH, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 17, 2007 -- IBC is pleased to announce the confirmation of Chiang Syin, Ph.D., of FDA/CBER as a featured speaker at this year's 11th International Process Validation for Biologicals. Dr. Syin is the Chief of Manufacturing Review Branch I, Division of Manufacturing and Product Quality FDA/CBER and will present his update on current Process Validation issues from the FDA perspective on February 27, 2007.

In addition, on February 26, 2007 Dr. Anthony Mire-Sluis will present the keynote presentation "The Future for Process Validation - Is It All in the Name?" This presentation will explain how the use of Quality by Design, modular validation and platform technology can dramatically increase understanding and control of process variability to a point where repeating a process three to five times during validation may no longer be necessary. Jeffrey C. Baker, Ph.D., Senior Research Advisor, Manufacturing Science and Technology at Eli Lilly & Co will present a featured presentation, "The 'People Systems' in Validation Practices: Skills, Qualifications, and Suitability."

Also, on February 27, 2007 attendees will hear a unique and highly anticipated talk on linking Process Characterization to Process Validation presented by Anurag Rathore, Ph.D., Process Development Research Scientist, Amgen Inc.
