Featuring Keynote From the National Institutes of Health Dr. Ira Pastan

WESTBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - September 18, 2007) - IBC Life Sciences is pleased to announce the 18th Annual International Antibody Engineering Conference will return to San Diego, California on December 2-6, 2007. This meeting serves as the annual forum of the Antibody Engineering community, providing insights to pioneer future developments in Antibody Engineering and Immunotherapeutics.

This five-day meeting brings together presentations from a preeminent internationally recognized faculty including a keynote presentation from Dr. Ira Pastan from the National Institutes of Health, who published on the first therapeutic single-chain Fv fusion protein in June 1989. Dr. Pastan's presentation, entitled "Engineering Improved Immuntoxins for Cancer Therapy," will take place on Monday, December 3rd. The faculty will present up-to-date research results on cutting-edge basic and applied antibody engineering science.

The 18th International conference continues tradition with an array of scientists selected by the Scientific Advisory Board. Speakers will discuss their latest, far-reaching investigations on antibody engineering, recombinant antibody and immunofusion therapeutics, and B and T cell immunology and related immunotherapy. Also included are methodological advances in molecular design and library manipulation, and critical progress on single scaffold binding proteins, which were spawned from antibody engineering.

This meeting is scientifically sponsored by The Antibody Society, which underscores its role as a forum for the antibody engineering community. The meeting will attract more than 700 attendees and is co-located with IBC's 5th Annual International Antibody Therapeutics Conference being held on December 4-6, 2007.
