Company Highlights Its Broad Portfolio of StormTest Products and Solutions for the Global Digital TV Market

In Hall 3, Stand 3.B23, S3 Group will highlight its broad portfolio of products and solutions that help global operators and technology suppliers develop and maintain cost-effective automated testing solutions throughout the lifecycle of their devices.

At IBC2011, S3 Group will demonstrate products and services that address the needs of every department involved in the digital device lifecycle, helping engineering teams to Develop & Test; supply chain departments to Install & Repair; and operations staff to Support & Monitor. Here are a few examples of what attendees will see at the S3 Group stand:

  • Develop & Test -- These demos, revolving around the industry-leading StormTest Development Center, will highlight the value of transitioning from manual to automated testing, as consumers become more comfortable using multiple platforms and devices to view their content, introducing greater complexity to the network. It is here that attendees can view the delivery of applications to Set-top Boxes, residential gateways, iPads, laptops and additional devices without delay or inaccuracies. Customers including Mediaset, Kabel BW and Tata Sky are among more than 20 operators around the world who have invested in StormTest Development Center for their automated testing needs.
  • Install & Repair -- This area of the S3 Group stand will show how its products including StormTest Decision Line and StormTest Decision Station can enable operators to maintain and develop high quality content delivery platforms by ensuring that all returned devices are assessed and fixed properly before re-deployment. Attendees will have the opportunity to see a flexible, programmable and future-proof automated testing platform in action as it accurately assesses any faulty devices that might have normally been misdiagnosed with manual testing. StormTest Decision Station enables testing at hubs before going for repair, and can also allow engineers to test a consumer's device in their home, saving operators the costs of extra truck rolls.
  • Support & Monitor -- This demo area will illustrate how to increase the effectiveness of call centers and other customer support services using StormTest Web Support and StormTest Subscriber Support. StormTest Web Support provides subscribers with an automated, web-based solution to help them troubleshoot issues themselves without contacting a call center. StormTest Subscriber Support provides customer service representatives with the ability to perform remote diagnostics, allowing them to resolve issues remotely while maintaining the highest quality of service. Monitoring these devices also becomes more important as guide data and real-time information is delivered to customers from multiple sources. To achieve consistency, it is vital that content delivery platforms are tested to ensure that applications are delivered on-time with the right content and the right data.
