Iberian Minerals Appoints Philippe Blavier to the Board of Directors

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 8, 2008) - Iberian Minerals Corp. (TSX VENTURE:IZN) Iberian Minerals Corp. ("Iberian") announces that Philippe Blavier has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Blavier is a Director of Fonciere des VIe et VIIe Arrondissements de Paris. In addition, he currently sits on the Board of Directors of three European private companies. Iberian's Board will be strengthened by Mr. Blavier's extensive business experience and knowledge of the energy and commodities market, predominantly in the investment banking area.

Mr. Blavier retired as Head of Corporate and Investment Banking from BNP Paribas in 2006, where he had held various executive positions, including Member of the Executive Committee for 7 years. He was active in the commodities sector during his 25 years tenure at Paribas and then at BNP Paribas, where he marshalled the investment bank since the merger between Banque Nationale de Paris and Banque Paribas in 1999.

Mr. Blavier graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris in 1967 and holds a D.E.S (Diplome d'Etudes Superieures) in Law. He is a Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur.
