AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS --(Marketwired - September 28, 2016) - Since its launch, Basic International Taxation by Roy Rohatgi has served as a leading reference work for tax professionals and students worldwide. This modern-day classic gives a comprehensive explanation of the basic principles of international taxation, as well as the practical application of key concepts.
Roy Rohatgi and IBFD have now joined forces to ensure the book's legacy for decades to come. Under an agreement signed by both parties on 26 September 2016, IBFD will take over the revision and publication of the book. Roy Rohatgi continues as author and will be joined as co-author by Belema Obuoforibo, Director of the IBFD Knowledge Centre.
"We are pleased with this venture between IBFD and Roy Rohatgi," said Maarten Goudsmit, Commercial and Publishing Director of IBFD. "We look forward to a successful and fruitful collaboration over the years to come."
"Basic International Taxation is long established as an invaluable guide to students and tax practitioners worldwide," stated Belema Obuoforibo. "The acquisition of this book fits squarely within IBFD's mission to be the foremost provider of international tax information."
This project is one further step in a strong relationship between IBFD and Roy Rohatgi. IBFD recently became co-organizer, together with Professor Rohatgi, of the prestigious International Taxation Conference. The first joint conference will be held in Mumbai in December 2016.
"I am delighted to be working so closely with an organization of IBFD's calibre," said Professor Rohatgi. "I look forward to a long and fruitful partnership that will create even more value for the world of international taxation."
The release of the fully-revised edition of Basic International Taxation is scheduled for the second half of 2018.
