iCadenza Unveils First 'Career Launch Bootcamp' for Classical Musicians at All Levels

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 27, 2011) - iCadenza,, the unique new firm dedicated to helping young and seasoned classical artists realize their professional dreams, today announced its first-ever "Career-Launch Bootcamp" to allow groups of singers and musicians to learn valuable lessons on developing career strategies, boosting personal branding and increasing their self-promotion.

The first sessions begin June 30 and will continue to the end of September. They will be conducted online and over the phone to provide as much mobility and flexibility as possible, according to iCadenza co-founders Julia Torgovitskaya and Jennifer Chernick.

"The bootcamp concept was born out of many requests we received following our series of nationwide onsite workshops during the last few months," said Torgovitskaya. "Rather than requiring our clients to come to us, now we can offer our consultation wherever they are."

The bootcamp also provides opportunities for artists to:

  • Create and refine press kits and develop media strategies
  • Prepare for auditions by assembling materials and overcoming anxiety
  • Build confidence
  • Expand their network through traditional avenues and online media
  • Identify each step toward career growth

In addition to lessons covering career strategy, personal branding and promotion, the program will provide a one-hour individual consulting session, a concrete action plan with momentum to set it in motion, monthly group phone calls, a supportive community and social media training.

After attending one of iCadenza's on-site workshops, soprano C. De Leon said, "The discussions on judgment, self-confidence, willingness to act and the concept of self-promotion were exactly what most of us needed to hear."

"It became clear to us early on that arts and music training programs do not sufficiently prepare artists for career development," Chernick said. "The very talented students graduate with no idea how to get work, and often feel self-conscious or uninformed when it comes to promoting themselves. Our new bootcamp is another way for us to help our clients in the most convenient way possible."

The typical iCadenza client either is a recent graduate or current student, mature artist or university faculty member who seeks knowledge about the business and promotional side of their careers in performing arts.
