iCan Benefit Group Holds Food Drive for Boca Helping Hands Charity

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - Nov 27, 2013) - In the spirit of giving, America's premier health insurance agency iCan Benefit Group recently hosted a food drive for Boca Helping Hands, a local South Florida community-based charity that provides food and emergency assistance to those in need. The drive, which was held from November 1st to November 15^th at iCan's Boca Raton corporate headquarters, yielded a substantial donation wherein 356 pounds of dry and canned goods was raised for families and individuals currently in crisis.

"We at Boca Helping Hands are very appreciative of companies such as iCan who held food drives for us during this holiday season," says Karen Swedenborg, Development Manager for Boca Helping Hands. "The food donated from iCan will help feed many of the 1200 families who signed up for our annual Basket Brigade for Thanksgiving this year."

The baskets, which are actually compiled in laundry carriers, were distributed on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 and included items such as: a frozen turkey, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, decorative plates, pie crust mix, instant mashed potato mix and more. 

"Hosting a food drive for Boca Helping Hands was an exercise in communal benevolence," says iCan Benefit Group's CEO, Steve Tucker. "It encouraged employee involvement and highlighted the crucial act of sharing with those less fortunate. I can't help but be proud of the iCan family as they demonstrated solidified selfless values."
