iCan Benefit Group Holds Toy Drive for Jr. League of Boca Raton

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - Dec 19, 2013) - In November, America's premier health insurance agency iCan Benefit Group hosted a Thanksgiving food drive for Boca Helping Hands, wherein they donated 356lbs. of food for those in need. Keeping on track with the company's seasonal "Spirit of Giving" theme, iCan once again hosted an employee donation drive, only this time it was a holiday gift inspired one held in partnership with 35 other organizations for the Junior League of Boca Raton and the Spirit of Giving Network. The initiative, which was held from November 27th to December 9th at iCan's Boca Raton corporate headquarters, yielded ample donations where everything from well-known board games, electronics and interactive toys were raised for local children in need.

"When people hear that someone lives in Boca Raton they don't typically envision an impoverished area, let alone person. But, for all of Boca's 'haves,' there is a percentage of 'have-nots' that often go unnoticed simply because of their zip code," says Spirit of Giving Network's Executive Director, Karen Krumholtz. "So, we're grateful to community supporters like iCan who recognize that the disadvantaged can often be a neighbor in need."

The Holiday Gift Drive, hosted by The Spirit of Giving Network in partnership with the Junior League of Boca Raton, has been an annual initiative since 2009 and has helped over 4,000 children from South Palm Beach County receive a special holiday gift wish each and every year.

iCan Benefit Group's CEO, Steve Tucker, feels strongly about he and his employees helping out those less fortunate, especially this time of year. "I don't know anyone who is okay with a child having no presents to open up on Christmas morning," says Tucker. "It's unfathomable to me, my wife and all of iCan's team members, which is why we're happy to make even the smallest of dents in the Junior League and Spirit of Giving Network's efforts to see that doesn't happen."
