Icon Industries Ltd.: Otish Project-Forthcoming Exploration Activities

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 13, 2007) - Icon Industries Ltd. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:ICN) is pleased to announce that a geological mapping and sampling program is to be undertaken within the Otish uranium project area, located in the Otish Mountains of Central Quebec, commencing in the last week of August. Timing of the program, late in the season, is designed to coordinate with the Fugro high-resolution helicopter-borne single sensor magnetic and radiometric survey, which is anticipated to be commenced shortly.

This field program is a follow-up on work carried out by Uranerz Exploration and Mining in 1978, the last exploration program conducted on the property. The Uranerz work led to the discovery of a large uraniferous boulder field in the north-central portion of the Otish property, and a north trending uarniferous vein in outcrop at Jean's showing. From the boulder field, Uranerz sampled 49 boulders which returned an average grade of 0.11 % U3O8. Within the boulder field, individual boulders are reported to include several which contain greater than 0.25% U3O8, including boulders which returned assays of 0.32% U3O8, 0.91% U3O8, 0.28% U3O8, 0.27% U3O8 and 0.46% U3O8. The boulder field was recently relocated during a site visit (see photos posted in the photo gallery on the company website). Large boulder size, angularity and proximity of boulders to geologically similar sub crop suggest a local source.

Fieldwork will comprise a combination of prospecting, sampling and geological mapping. Further sampling and refinement of the morphology of the boulder field will be completed to identify potential source areas. Prospecting and mapping in the vicinity of Jean's showing assess the potential for additional veins there, and along other portions of the interpreted trace of the north-northeast trending Barou Fault. Faults of this orientation are known to be prospective for uranium mineralization in the district, as is exemplified by the Matoush Fault on Strateco's adjacent property. The Eastmain mine winter road, which where it passes through the property is a well constructed gravel road, will provide ease of access to prospects and target areas during the current program, and for the follow-up winter drilling program, as soon as winter access becomes available.
