Iconic Supermodel Emme Joins National Women's Survivors Convention

Emme Shares Her Life From Catwalk to Chemo

NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwired - February 25, 2014) - The Women Survivors Alliance (WSA) is excited to announce that Emme is joining the lineup of special guest speakers at the Second Annual National Women's Survivors Convention. This one-of-a-kind event designed to honor and inspire cancer survivors will take place July 31-August 2, 2014 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Emme is the iconic world's first full figured supermodel, a globally recognized TV personality, author and clothing designer. She is also a survivor. In 2007, Emme was diagnosed with stage 2A Hodgkin's Disease and buckled down for the challenge of her life and the impending treatment. At age 16, Emme lost her mother Sally, then 39, to lung, breast and bone cancer. Today Emme's message is clear -- to awaken the inner magnificence inherent in each of us.

Founded by the WSA, the National Women's Survivors Convention aims to establish a network where women affected by cancer can find their voice, improve their quality of life, and embrace their new normal.

Thanks to tremendous strides in research there are more than 7 million women cancer survivors in the United States, but a cancer diagnosis is a life game changer. Survivors must address the long-term and life limiting effects of the illness and its treatments including physical, emotional, psychosocial, legal and financial issues. Survivorship, and the recognition of the many challenges survivors face following treatment, is the cutting-edge theme in the world of cancer today.

Emme joins honorary co-chairs Giuliana and Bill Rancic for the 2014 event, which will feature even more celebrities, cutting edge researchers, cancer-based organizations, networking opportunities, the Celebrate Survivors 5k and the opportunity for a night out in downtown Music City. Returning favorites from the 2013 convention will include the Survivors Marketplace Expo and amazing Glamville makeovers.

Space is limited, so reserve your spot today at SURVIVORVILLE.org and follow the journey to SURVIVORVILLE 2014 on Facebook and Twitter @Survivorville.
