IDC Showcases LASER(TM) Targeted Advertising Solution for Rapidly Growing Indonesian Broadcast Market

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Aug. 6, 2014) - International Datacasting Corporation (TSX:IDC), a technology innovator in digital content distribution, is proud to jointly host a seminar with the Canadian Embassy in Jakarta, entitled "The Future of Broadcast Advertising". This event will showcase the IDC LASER™ targeted advertising solution.

With targeted advertising, broadcasters are able to more precisely tailor ad content in accordance with local regulation, language and cultural preferences. This enables broadcasters to target advertising more effectively and to increase ad sales revenues relative to previous solutions.

The stakes are high, as the ad market is becoming both more lucrative and increasingly competitive as new technologies and internet-based platforms provide more alternatives to target consumers and businesses. At the seminar, IDC will discuss how targeted ad insertion can enable broadcasters to be more successful in this competitive landscape. Throughout the event, IDC will demonstrate firsthand how such leading-edge technology is able to change the established rules of broadcast TV.

As Indonesia moves towards DVB-T2 broadcasting, regionalization of content is required for broadcasters to cost-effectively address local variations in culture and language, and to insert content that is more relevant and valuable to viewers. Regionalization enables a more relevant and compelling broadcast experience, positioning television broadcasters for increased success.

During this seminar, IDC will demonstrate how its ground-breaking LASER Multi Program Splicer (MPS) technology can unleash the potential of broadcast TV to increase ad revenues and grow viewership.

The event will be hosted on the 13th of August 2014, starting at 9:00 am local time, at the Pullman Jakarta Central Park (Podomoro City Jl. Let. Jend. S. Parman Kav. 28, Jakarta 11470 - Indonesia).

"With over 40 key industry experts already confirmed, I am thrilled to see such a high level of interest for LASER MPS, which IDC announced only a few months ago at the 2014 National Association of Broadcaster's show," stated Doug Lowther, President and CEO of IDC. "We are very proud to contribute IDC's technology leadership to the dynamic and growing broadcast TV market in Indonesia".
